Opening a store and choosing its name

Where does my store live?

Your store has its own address: its name followed by .merch.link, for example yourband.merch.link. Share that link anywhere.

What names can I use?

• Lowercase letters and numbers only. Spaces and symbols are removed.
• The name must not already be taken.
• A few names are reserved because Merch.link uses them for its own addresses, like www, help or admin.

Changing your store's name

Open your store, choose Edit Store, and type the new name under Merch URL. The preview shows your new address, and we tell you straight away if the name is taken. Choose Rename store to move.

• Your old address keeps working: oldname.merch.link sends visitors, and search engines, to newname.merch.link, including links to single items.
• Nobody else can take your old name. You can take it back later if you change your mind.
• Update your bio links and posts when you can, so fans land on the new address directly.

Your old store link still works: stores have always lived at yourband.merch.link.
